A very emotional and moving article Suresh! I feel you bro !

The people and organization that I’ve worked for in the past 4 years have not really given me a pay rise throughout the period! It pisses me off, learning how they just make adjustments here and there – increase the basic, cut off some allowances etc.The net still remains pretty much the same. I had not said much then, hence my fate today – me being smarter than my boss, but not being able to do anything about it due to sheer corporate politics !

Yes,we are living in troubling times.Hence, my silent cry..

I need to pull my socks up and remind myself that my turn will come,where I would be at the other side of the fence..

I guess what you meant was “their ability to speak” I agree with you, the standard of English in this country is appalling. I am not referring to Manglish, which can be rather endearing (and I admit, I do speak this way also lah), but bad, bad grammar. This irks me to no end!

Go for the fun economics books. They call themselves popular economics, but discuss very interesting but simple concepts. Freaknomics is one that springs to mind. Also try looking at the undercover economist.

These are fun reads.

Other than that, pick up a copy of Newsweek every now and then.

i have a question for you.I’m a medical student and due to my very hectic and time constraining course i’m unable to really educate myself on economical issues.What do you suggest i do to improve my knowledge in this field?I find many books/mags out there expect the reader to already know basics bout economics…and this has made it very difficult for me to understand the whole literature…hope you could help..

Great article…i just recently went for a seminar and the presenter gave a pretty similar suggestions on how to beat the recession. I’m impressed that there are ppl jus like you who are willing to help malaysians for no cost!… GREAT WORK!
